Traffic

I feel the weight of the traffic bearing down on me as I stand on the curb

A mass exodus of howling bodies released by the greening of the light

Shrieking rubber, screaming tarmac, growling engines, the wild calls of the jungle

Before I can set foot on the cross walk a monstrous twelve wheeler takes the corner

Reeling around in a psychotic war dance of unholy heat and sweat

A chariot of hell returning home with its howling spoils of war

Soon the sea of steel has ebbed the hand of god is flashing orange

Only by the will of angels or evolution alone do I make it safely to the other side

Sentience

She looks at me
Wide and wondering eyes
Curious, inquisitive
Affection starved
Despite previous cuddling
I lift her
I hold her
I kiss her head
Stroke her back
And she speaks to me
A single soft sound
"Mow!"
Her purrs and meows
Speak volumes of I love you

The Cost Of Clean

Empty dishrack
Sparkling floor
Folded clothing
Lemon fresh scent

Dishpan hands
Tender Feet
Aching Back
Smell of sweat

Mobius Universe

Movement unchanging
Where you end
Is where you begin
An endless cycle
Of reincarnating starscape
